The water of the Binz-Therme
Deep beneath the small dune forest lies our greatest treasure. According to legend, the healing Hertha spring ran dry here a long time ago. In fact, a discovery was made during drilling in the early 1990s - since then, four sea-coast iodine brine springs with temperatures of up to 35°C have been bubbling to the surface from depths of 300 to 1,222 meters. Analyses have shown that they are over 220 million years old and unique in their type and composition on the Baltic Sea coast!
When bathing, you will feel a buoyancy of the body - similar to the Dead Sea. This buoyancy relieves your joints and intervertebral discs and is utilized during daily aqua gymnastics. Our brine has a calming and pleasantly relaxing effect, supports successful dermatological treatments and can be used to treat various respiratory diseases.
Extract from the medicinal water analysis
The water from the HyT 1/94 borehole can be characterized as follows: Thermal brine containing iodine and fluoride with more than 20 equivalent% calcium. In summary, it can be said to be a valuable thermal brine. The requirements of the definition of medicinal water are fully met. The water has a high degree of purity. The thermal brine is well suited for balneological applications.

The legend of the Hertha spring
According to legend, the merciful goddess Hertha once caused a spring to emerge from the ground near Binz, which was so good that people were healed and rejuvenated. However, due to the greed of a rich woman, the spring dried up forever in the sandy soil of the dune forest.
Deep beneath the island of Rügen, however, a sea formed from the healing waters. Whoever succeeded in bringing the spring back to light would be relieved of pain and suffering and given back a piece of their youth ...
